The Millennium Cup is an extremely successful, simple glider event for two-metre wingspan/two-function control models in NSW that has run for some 18 years. It originally was winch launch, but has morphed in to an electric glider event for 2 m models.
Six rounds are generally scheduled each year at different locations each time. Entrants do not have to attend all meetings - the best scores are taken for the results. The events are organised each year by the Heathcote Soaring League club that is based at Maddens Plains, just south of Sydney.

There has been an update of the rules in February 2025. These now allow the use of spoilers and have revised the landing scoring method. You can see/get a copy of the new rules here
The rules were updated to include a) spoilers are now allowed, mainly for safety reasons. The newer lighter models paired with a older cohort of pilots we have seen airframe VNE being exceeded more regularly. and b) the timer now stops when the model first touches the ground. This is to align with other popular competitions.
